Haunted Bookstore in Ohio: Owners Discover a Ghost Who Loves Toys

If you’re a regular reader, you know about my fascination with ghosts and other creepy stuff. (Nemacolin Castle: Our Trip To A Real Haunted House, Ghosts and Spirits: Do You Believe and Ex CIA Agent Claims Rosewell Incident Was Real)

A ball moves by itself at the haunted book store.
You also know I love hearing true ghost stories about haunted sites. That’s why I'm hooked on the television show Haunted Collector on Syfy.

The show features a team of paranormal investigators lead by John Zaffis – who claims to be a real demonologist (i.e. someone who investigates really scary #$%$!)

Jeff and his team visit haunted locations hoping to identify and remove objects which they believe are triggering ghostly activity.

In their latest episode they visited a bookstore in Tipp, OH where customer reported hearing voices and being touched by something invisible. Even creepier, toys left out overnight in the bookstore were caught on camera moving by themselves.

Then ghost hunters picked up the voice of a child on their ghost-detector thing – which most likely explains why this particular spirit liked to play with toys. It was a kid!

The episode was scary and interesting and creepy and all the things you want a good ghost story to be.  Except…

SPOILER ALERT

The ghost hunters never figure out where the child ghost came from or why it is haunting the bookstore in the first place.

That’s right. No big reveal!

As any fan of the paranormal knows, the best part of a haunted house story is finding out that a building sits on ancient Indian burial ground or an old cemetery or other site with a spooky history -- something than can explain the paranormal activity. From a viewing perspective, it's always satisfying to have closure.

Oh well, maybe next episode. Some things just can't be explained.

Have you ever watched Haunted Collector on Syfy? Have you ever seen a ghost? Got any ghost stories you’d like to share? Friend me on Facebook or find me on Twitter.

PS – I did a quick internet search to see how close Tipp was to Youngstown, thinking that we could visit the bookstore before a baseball game.  Sadly, the towns are four hours apart and we're usually short on time.

  1. This bookstore is not far from where I live and I've been there but have never seen or felt anything unusual. Doesn't mean there isn't anything going on there. Just my experience.
